Pamela is a senior academic who had four sessions to work through some questions around career crossroads.
What hesitations did you have about working with [Maxine]?
I had no hesitations. Partly because I felt that I needed to speak to a professional and you were one. It was a huge bonus that you understood the HE sector which I am in.
What results have you experienced since we started working together?
I have better clarity about my choices and what I can or should aim for. More confidence in going for things. Still some imposter syndrome but it gets ‘beaten’ out of me by you thankfully! [Editor’s note – no acdemic women were harmed in the making of this testimonial!!]
What did you like best about working with [Maxine]?
Your ability to listen and to get me to my point. I tend to ramble or perhaps it’s because I’m often unsure what I’m unsure about. You seem to be able to get to the point for me. It helps.
What else did you get from the coaching?
A clarity that coaching is actually important particularly for people like me who have quite a significant amount of work experience and wanting to seek either new opportunities or get an idea of what opportunities there are out there. And how we can transfer our skills where necessary.
Would you recommend Maxine and her services? If so, to whom?
Definitely. To my colleagues in the HE sector or people who generally need career coaching. Women. Because you are a joy to work with.
What’s the most important thing for people to know about working with Maxine?
The service is confidential. And Maxine has a great sense of humour. Very important in all working relationships!
Thanks so much for the feedback Pamela. It was fabulous to work with you and I’m excited about what the future holds for you. Wish you the very best in your career.
