Many people are already familiar with the benefits of the thinking partnership that coaching provides. It is a person centred, future focused, relational, positive modality. Coaching is based on empowering individuals to realise their fullest potential.
Getting outside reminds us of the wisdom of our body too. So often our body is seen as merely the means of transporting the only bit that matters, our brain. But getting outside, the physicality of dealing with terrain (and I’m not necessarily talking mountains but maybe some uneven ground, soft grass or a gravel path) and sensing the environment opens up new thinking pathways. Being in nature also reminds us of the systemic nature of life and can guide us to remember connections between our current situation and possible futures.
